ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਕਸ਼ਮੀਰ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਤੀ ਦਾ ਸਵਰਗ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ। ਬਹੁਤ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਉਥੇ ਰਹੀਮ ਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਲੜਕਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਮਾਤਾ-ਪਿਤਾ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਨਿਪੁੰਨ ਦਸਤਕਾਰ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਕਾਲੀਨ ਬੁਣਦਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਚਦਾ ਸੀ।
ਇਕ ਦਿਨ ਰਹੀਮ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਸਵੇਰੇ ਛੇ ਵਜੇ ਸਵੇਰ ਦੀ ਸੈਰ ਦੇ ਲਈ ਗਏ। ਰਹੀਮ ਆਪਣੇ ਪਿਤਾ ਤੋਂ ਆਸ-ਪਾਸ ਦੀਆਂ ਵਸਤੂਆਂ (ਚੀਜ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰੇ ਵਿਚ ਪੁੱਛ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ ਅਤੇ ਅੰਦਰ ਹੀ ਅੰਦਰ ਖ਼ੁਸ਼ ਹੋ ਰਿਹਾ ਸੀ। ਰਸਤੇ ਵਿਚ ਉਸਨੇ ਸੁੰਦਰ ਪਹਾੜ, ਹਰੇ-ਭਰੇ ਮੈਦਾਨ, ਚਰਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਗਾਵਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਛੋਟੇ ਜਿਹੇ ਤਾਲਾਬ। ਵਿਚ ਤੈਰਦੀਆਂ ਹੋਈਆਂ ਬਤਖਾਂ ਦੇਖੀਆਂ।
ਰਹੀਮ : ਪਿਤਾ ਜੀ, ਹੁਣ ਮੈਂ ਥੱਕ ਗਿਆ ਹਾਂ।

ਰਹੀਮ : ਮੈਂ ਸੋਚਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਪਰਮਾਤਮਾ ਨੇ ਗਲਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ। ਅਖਰੋਟ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਲ ’ਤੇ ਅਤੇ ਤਰਬੂਜ਼ ਨੂੰ ਦਰੱਖਤ ‘ਤੇ ਉੱਗਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਸੀ।
